Lila Blue

Lila Blue is a singer-songwriter from New York City who moved to San Francisco in 2011. At just 16 years old, Lila Blue has proven herself to be an accomplished recording artist, theatrical composer, and multi-instrumentalist.

She started writing songs at the age of 8, inspired by Patti Smith, Joni Mitchell, and Regina Spektor, first using the ukulele, then moving into guitar, bass, and piano. She conceptualized and recorded her first album, Lucille, released in 2014. Her songs seem to flow from some deep and ageless source. Her vocal phrasing still carries the sweetness of youth, but the lyrics resonate with the shadows and complexity of an older soul. This is poetry wed to music.

Lila's new – second – album, »The Hollows Hold the Healing«, witnesses her intensifying musical and life perspective, and is a fearless exploration into the often hidden crevices of the heart, mind, and soul. The sound of this new album is rawer and direct, recorded primarily live in studio. The album is anticipated for a Fall 2016 release, to be available on iTunes, Amazon, and Spotify.

Lila Blue has been performing solo at clubs and festivals in San Francisco and New York, at Stanford University, KPFA and KUSF live in-studio performances, and as a special guest vocalist for Noche Flamenca at New York's Lincoln Center Out of Doors summer series.

We are just at the beginning of Lila Blue's musical journey, which promises to take us deep down into our own hidden depths and back to the light again, perhaps healing a few scars along the way, and we're all the better for it.
